Get prepared for a long story: This hair apparently was made by Peggy ages ago for Sims 2, then converted by RustyNail but taken down, then recolored by Littlecat, and that’s where I downloaded it. I had seen it before on Around the Sims, where a girl called Yseut is wearing it, hence the name. (It’s just handier than “Littlecat’s recolor of RustyNail’s conversion of Peggy 081011 or whatever”)
Well, I really wanted Yseut’s Hair in my game, but the child and toddler version turned out unusable. The toddler hair didn’t show up at all, and the child hair had dreadfully messed up lowpolys. Initially, I just wanted to replace these lowpolys by propper versions, because I thought, it couldn’t be that different from object creation. Then it turned out, the package itself was somehow corrupted. It wouldn’t open in TSRW, and all I got after some struggle was the child-highpoly mesh as wavefront object, and the textures. Sooo I had to clone an ea hair and remake the package from scratch. In the process I added an accesory because… it was easier (skipping another long story here). I also changed the angle of the braids slightly, to make them look a bit more realistic. On the before/after pic, you can see they are slightly closer to the shoulders now.
Credits: Firstly, thanks to Littlecat. To do her justice, I must say that her adult version of the hair works perfectly (get it at editsim!). Also she has allowed me to keep using her retexture in my fix (or I would have had to learn retexturing, too!). Credit for the original mesh of course goes to RustyNail and Peggy. The child pose is by spladoum. Another big thanks to Sandy, who provided a WCIF for this rather hard to find hair, and who allowed me to call it after her Yseut.
And finally: The Download-Link!
Edit: Forgot the before/after picture; see next post please
YAY!!! Thank you for doing this!! The Rusty Nail version I get is borked too, so I’m going to use your version on Yseut from now (she’s so proud to have given her name to a hairdo! ;))
