I’ve been asked a couple of times about my feelings regarding the Sims 4, and though I usually answer to “Asks” privately, I thought I could answer these ones here (and, huh… nobody asked me about #6 and #7, but I thought some of you might want to know the answers anyway! ;))
1) Will you get the Sims 4?
Yes. At first, I wasn’t sure, but “single-player” and “off-line” won me over. If it had been an online game, I would have skipped it.
2) Will you create for Sims 4?
If possible, I’d love to, of course! Creating for the Sims has always been a big part of the fun I can have with this game. Also, I’d hate if people woud convert my stuff! *lol* I like better doing it by myself! :p
3) Will you stop playing the Sims 3?
No, never. I’ve been building my Sims 3 town since the game release, and it won’t still be finished before Sims 4 gets released. There’s no way I start all again from scratch. I’m way too attached to my Simmies to drop them for something shinier. I have too many non-stories going on, I want to see my kids growing up, I want to see my teens getting married, I want to see my adults getting elders, I want to see the town evolving, I want to see more generations… The Sims 3 will remain my main game. Just as the Sims 1 was actually my main game during the Sims 2 years (I know, I’m weird).
4) Will you keep creating for the Sims 3?
OMG, yes! If you could see the lenght of my ‘to-do” list… I have still years of work on it, and I keep adding new stuff because I have new ideas, new needs… So, Sims 4 or not, I’ll keep creating new and original content for the Sims 3. Actually, I’ve made my most interesting Sims 1 objects after the Sims 2 release, so there’s good hopes I’ll get inspired after Sims 4! ;)
5) Will you play the Sims 4?
Hmm, if I like it, I’d like playing with it, but as a casual game. I won’t be as involved as I can be in my Sims 3 game. Maybe I’ll finally try to play a legacy, or I’ll recreate a Sim from a previous game to give him/her a parallel life. I’ll play differently, less, “lighter”.
6) Will you still create for the Sims 2?
Well, if there’s still some people playing with the Sims 2 and enjoying my stuff, I don’t see why I wouldn’t give few hours of my time at converting stuff I would have made for the Sims 3/4 for the Sims 2 as well, even if I don’t play with the Sims 2 anymore. I remember having been so sad when all my favorite creators left the Sims 1 for the Sims 2 that I promised to myself to try updating for Sims 2 time to time, even if it’s not very often.
7) Do you still create for the Sims 1?
Sadly no, because I haven’t played the Sims 1 since the Sims 3 release, and worst of worst, none of my two computers can play it correctly now. My screens are too big, too wide, and the Sims 1 look ridiculously small on them. Too small, or cut. So, I can’t play the Sims 1 anymore. Too bad, because I used to LOVE that game, and its graphics actually. :p
Voilà! :)
